Daily Prayer Points

Pray with A for God’s grace and wisdom as she works on a significant payroll project for her school. Pray that this project might be a blessing, and be received well by all the staff. Thank God with M and K for cooler weather, and with it the return of energy. Pray that they will use this time wisely and well. Pray with E for boldness in taking up gospel opportunities. Pray with K (and A) for wisdom as they both start new roles in a local Bible training project. Pray with S and E for continued peace in God’s provision for them. 

Pray with R for R and other believers in Eurasia to love with a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith. Pray with J and P for a positive outcome for J’s visa application. Pray with J and S for wisdom in choosing a pathway to complete J’s Masters study, and in working out what that looks like. Thank God with S and D for the joy of parenthood, and for them working well as a team during deputation. 

Pray with J for a new group of women reading the Word together, that they would grow in faith and be equipped to share their faith with their community. Pray with S and M for energy and zeal as the family gets into new routines of school, language study and sharing Jesus. Pray with Dan and Marg that they will reflect compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience with family, neighbours, teammates, and the people Dan leads at school. Thank God with Gavin and Megan Rosser for church ministries started for a new year and for those serving; for their work produced by faith and labour prompted by love. Pray with Derk and Susan that the believers they teach will have courage to both speak and live out the gospel. Pray with L for the free clinic run every Wednesday for refugees from various parts of the Middle East. Pray for refugees struggling with family violence, rising food costs and inadequate employment. Pray with M for open doors to share the gospel with personal contacts. 

Thank God with B for the joy of seeing folk during her Home Assignment, and the encouragement of hearing many prayers. Pray with C that God would raise up more Arab male colleagues to work and minister in her ‘Dusty City’. Pray with J for new fruit as people hear God’s word and encounter Jesus. Pray for husbands and wives to come to faith together. Pray with M to get into a regular rhythm of meeting with friends to study the Bible, including R, and K and H. Thank God with W and S for clear evidence of God’s provision in the life of friends. Pray with S and P for joy and courage in sharing their faith. 

Thank God with Morgan and Olivia for blessed times on Home Assignment. Pray with Elizabeth for good opportunities at the young adults’ event this month to connect and share, and pray for wisdom as Elizabeth starts to lead in Arabic. Pray with John and Deb for several changes of location for their church services, that people will still be able to attend each Sunday. Thank God with Craig and Lisse for an encouraging kick-off to the ministry year after summer. Pray for ongoing training for those serving in kids’ and tweens ministry during Term 1. Thank God with Ray and Sandy for the many faithful members of their ministry team, including Emeli (who works in the office). 

NSW & ACT: Give thanks as the branch prepares for Summer School in 2025. Pray that many would sign up for a week of engaging with 1 Peter and growing hearts for mission. 

QNNSW: Pray for the upcoming Annual General Meeting, at which branch members will vote on revised Rules of Association. Ask for a united and seamless transition to a new Board to oversee branch governance. 

SANT: With many missionary movements in the next few months, pray that logistics would come together for missionaries departing, and for those starting Home Assignment. Pray too for Summer Conference 2025 as registrations open and the program develops. 

TAS: Pray for student minister ‘Y’ as she completes her second semester at Moore College and continues to gain ministry experience at FOCUS Church in Sydney. Pray also for good registration numbers for Summer Conference. 

VIC: Thank God for a generous response to the ‘Capital Campaign’ for missionary accommodation, and pray that this response will continue. 

WA: Pray that CMS WA would find ways of growing partnerships to meet a huge expense hike this financial year. 

Thank God with David and Cathie Sandifer for growing ministry opportunities through church, and more broadly. Pray with Co-Mission Partner Jotham Booker that the Munich church network meeting on 22 October would go well and, God willing, lead to a more solid network being formed early next year. Praise God with Klaus and Jude Hickel for their new congregation’s inauguration service, including a visit from Bishop Andrew Lines.  

Thank God with Simon and Jessica Cowell for new student leaders in Bari, Pescara, Foggia and Cosenza, and for Sam, a new ministry trainee. Pray with Co-Mission Partner (CoMP) Andrea (and Geanne) Becciolini as a new academic year starts, that God’s Word would bear much fruit in the life of the students who just attended the national training conference. Pray with Jason and Hannah Fairclough for continuing growth in trust between the GBU and local churches. Thank God with Gillian Law for the GBU student leaders training conference that has just finished. Pray that students will remember what they learned and put it into practice for the rest of the year. Pray with CoMPs Bostjan and Lidija Cifer for the new academic year starting in October, that students would grow in a deeper understanding of the gospel and that God would lead many new students to faith in Jesus. Pray with CoMP Manuel Ardolino for his health problems, that may God heal him totally and that his difficulties may not negatively impact his present ministry in Rome. 

Pray with Jim and Tanja French for MOCLAM students to ground themselves in the Bible, and for Jim and Tanja to have capacity and wisdom in teaching them. Give thanks with Lauren Raiter for the joy of having fellow missionaries visit, and for the great company during her first birthday abroad. Give thanks with Miriam Bradshaw for a Thursday women’s group and ask that they might gain a deeper understanding of the gospel. Thank God with Chris and Kristy Galea for a safe arrival in Malta, and for a good start to the new school year for their kids. Pray for good connection time with friends and for opportunities to minister to them. 

Pray with Karina Brabham for the GBU to maintain and develop good relationships with local churches in Poitiers for the sake of the gospel. Pray with Colin and Catherine Puffett for their church to grow this year, and for them to be faithful, humble and prayerful leaders. Pray with Josh and Susannah Apieczonek for wisdom in balancing time and priorities at church, GBU, and the new church plant. Pray with Gillian Akers for deeper understanding of how she might fit into her church’s activities, following her first training session with Perspectives. Pray with Emma Payne that she will daily have courage to take up gospel opportunities. Pray with Michael and Rani Grivas-Allison for a good transition for Alexi from creche to pre-school this Tuesday, and that God would work in this space to open new doors of friendship and new depths of understanding Belgian/Brussels culture. Thank God with Howard and Patricia Spencer for a positive start for the academic year. Pray that students would invite their friends to the GBU group so that they grow in their faith. Pray also that as winter approaches the Spencers will be protected from sickness. Pray with CoMP Léon Le (and Oliva) for strength: that in all circumstances (at home, with the children, with the GBU, at church), they may depend on God, and live in the likeness of Christ. 

Give thanks with Marty and Jenny Foord for new students and a good semester so far. Pray for efficiency and wisdom for Marty and the faculty to complete the accreditation process for the college. Thank God with Christopher and Julie Dean for sustaining them in their first term of service: for what they’ve learned, and for the relationships formed. Pray for a blessed time on Home Assignment. Pray with Chris and Grace Adams for a restful two week holiday—for family bonding and fun. Thank God with Malcolm and Leanne for the break they have been able to have. Pray that they will be able to refocus as they visit Panania, Roseville, and Sussex Inlet this month. Pray with Taulama Siuhengalu for wisdom and a good rhythm in managing his responsibilities at Hanoi Bible college. Pray with Co-Mission Partner T (and N) that members of their church might be faithful in attend gatherings and studying the Bible. 

Pray with Nick and Rebekah that they might prepare well for transitioning out of their current city. Pray with Rowan for the incoming new President and government: that they will serve the common good in a spirit of unselfishness, compassion, and fairness. Give thanks with Andrew Buchanan and Abi Tandiseru for many encouraging times with supporters. Pray that their holiday time this month will be refreshing. Thank God with Chris and Erin for the opportunities that they have to teach English. Pray that they would use these opportunities to point people to Jesus. 

Pray with Julie for wisdom and creativity in juggling coursework requirements and ministry opportunities. Pray with Jon and Deborah that God will provide, so that this month St Peters Church will be able to complete the purchase of the building they have been renting for ten years. Pray with Rebekah for local churches to grow in courage and humility as they show God’s love to their neighbours. Pray with Josh and Nici for motivation and perseverance in language learning. 

Pray with K as the language centre makes changes to improve effectiveness: that the diverse staff team would work wisely and lovingly together to reach locals and expats alike. Thank God with N for those who attend the free ‘Saturday English Club’ at her language centre. Pray that the stories that are told, and the relationships that grow, will bear eternal fruit. Thank God with J for opportunities to share of God’s grace during Home Assignment, and ask for travelling mercies. Pray with I that workers in her location would be protected from demonic forces. Pray too for a Muslim couple who have come to faith, that their whole family would also believe. Thank God with L and C that their family is feeling more settled in the face of many changes. 

Pray with Tim and Olivia Mulherin for the four new resident doctors who have just started working and training at MMC: for diligence, humility and commitment as they embark on this three year program. Praise God with Jeremy and Jill Horrocks that urgent staff vacancies at HOPE have been filled. Pray for Cambodia as the next three days are an annual religious holiday to pray to dead ancestors, that Christians might be strong in the Lord and willing to speak the truth in love. Pray with Maurice and Amanda Jacobson as Cambodia celebrates their festival of the dead—for God’s light to shine into places of darkness. 

Thank God for the many partners that CMS works with around the world. Pray for continued good relationships with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. 

Pray with Daniel and Olivia Webster that the training course Olivia is running this month would enable local physiotherapists to feel confident in their skills in prolapse treatment. Thank God with Kylie Zietsch for time away with the Johannesburg Bible College staff to plan, prepare and have fun. Pray for international students Hope, Avaline, Esther and Gloria, that they would grow in the Word and in their teaching. Pray with Nathan and Diane Lovell for the George Whitefield College students as they enter term four. Pray that students hoping to graduate would gain new information and skills to equip them for a lifetime of ministry. Pray with Mike and Karen Roe for the family as they arrive in Australia and start their final Home Assignment. Pray with Co-Mission Partner Thulisile (and Thato) Mabe for energy and joy in parenting. Pray for co-worker Busi in Soweto Campus, teaching biblical counselling, ‘Women Serving Christ’ and ‘Spiritual Formation’ classes. Pray for co-worker Andries as he leads the team in Soweto–for wisdom, grace and joy as he serves. 

Pray with Brenton and Mel Kilby for energy and wisdom as they balance language learning classes, study, family life, and other work commitments. Pray with Mike and Katie Taylor for children’s ministry in the churches in their area. Pray for Katie and her team as they train leaders, provide resources, and encourage churches to love and teach children about Jesus. Pray with Michael and Jean Burke for Michael’s travel to Uganda for two weeks of medical learning, and Jean’s travel to Sydney for medical appointments and seeing family. Pray for them and their colleagues preparing for a new academic year in the medical college. Pray with David and Jenny Juniper for the upcoming Langham preaching seminar, that preachers would learn to handle God’s Word faithfully, proclaim it clearly, and apply it helpfully. 

Thank the Lord with Andrew and Margaret Newman for the joy of partnering with new gospel workers again, for the first time in two years. Pray for a joyful time connecting with Margie’s brother and sister-in-law next week. Praise God with Ryan and Lynne Verghese for deepening friendships with expatriates, one of whom has come to church. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel. Pray with Adam and Avril Friend for the Bible college students and families returning to Toliara this week–for safety and a smooth return to college life. 

Pray with M that as the school year resumes, she will have opportunities to share Jesus with the mothers of children at the centre. Pray with Anna Radkovic that God will give her wisdom to see gospel opportunities around her, and boldness to take them up. Give thanks with Anthony and Trudi Elyard for the partnership and support they have developed during their first Home Assignment. Pray for continued trust in God as they transition to Addis Ababa for language learning, reconnection and relationship building. Pray with Co-Mission Partners Anwar Berhe and Tsigereda Atankir for spiritual and physical protection as they continue in their evangelism and church-planting support. 

Praise God with Malcolm and Ainsley Purdey for those who have come to faith at their church, Iglesia Puente. Give thanks with Chris and Stef Overhall for their CMS pastoral visit and for the care that CMS workers receive. Pray for Chris’s MOCLAM classes as they progress in their studies. Thank God with Frances Cook for his faithfulness to her over her years serving in Chile. Pray for wisdom for the future. Pray with Co-Mission Partner (CoMP) Álex (and Karina) Córdova Morales for courage in taking up gospel opportunities. Thank God with CoMPs Andrés and Annika Ruiz Caro for times of rest, and new friendships developing. Give thanks with Adrian and Anita Lovell for a pastoral visit with Chris and Jeni. Pray that they will have fruitful discussions over the next two days. 

Give thanks with Martin and Julie Field for the safe arrival of baby Miqueas to their Año Puente co-workers, Tebi and Conti. Pray for wisdom for them as they adjust to life and ministry with two children. Give thanks with Amy Stephens for a strong start to the semester. Pray that students will attend evangelistic talks and hear of Jesus. Pray with Peter and Terry Blowes for much fruit from the evangelistic push on campus this month, and for the retreat/planning time for students in October. Thank God with Pedro and Joy Oliveira Woolmer for an upcoming CMS pastoral visit. Pray that timetables can be organised so that there could be at least two MOCLAM groups this semester. Praise God with Nick and Kysha Davies for the online review sessions of the in-person preaching workshops earlier this year. Thank God with Co-Mission Partners Bryan and Sarah Haro Leon for Sarah’s opportunities to get to know and read the Bible with mums. 

Give thanks with Matt and Ellen Tyler for the opportunity to spend four weeks in a village learning how locals live. Pray that God would sustain their energy levels, and give good insights into culture. Pray with Joel and Tiffanie Atwood for wise follow up of the people reached in the ‘Who is Jesus’ mission. Pray for Tiffanie’s ongoing Bible reading and training of young women. Pray with Keith and Marion Birchley for the Lord’s help and guidance to make the most of the next eight weeks in PNG as they pack their house and say goodbyes. Pray for ministry apprentices who will need to navigate ministry together without Keith and Marion next year. Pray with David Pettett for the mid-semester break, that it will be a time for refreshment as well as catching up on work. Pray with Bill and Linda Colyer for good conversations at the Unite Presbyterian Youth Camp, happening now. 

Pray with Ian and Jenny Wood for the final teaching blocks in term four, with some students needing to catch-up to finish. Give thanks with Derek and Rosemary Snibson for emerging Aboriginal leaders in Darwin who are asking to be discipled and to engage in ministry. Ask for others to join. Pray with Simon and Claire Koefoed as they prepare to attend a St Andrew’s Hall intensive in October, and for Toby and Ben as they continue in school in Darwin during this time. Give thanks for good Christian friends who will keep an eye on them. Pray with Co-Mission Partners James (and Miriam) Woods, Marlene Andrews and Mandy Manggurra for boldness to take up gospel opportunities in their communities. 

Thank God with Chris and Karen Webb for the children who come to Broome Peoples Church. Pray that they will be convinced that Jesus is the best leader to follow. Give thanks with Matt and Lisa Pearson for ongoing translation of the Old Testament. Ask God to equip a new generation of Kunwinjku translators. Pray with Josh and Steph Mackenzie for the children’s book translation project that Steph and the church ladies are working on. Pray with Geoff and Hannah Harper for Hannah’s involvement with two language groups training in Bible translation at Nungalinya College. Pray for God’s blessing on the participants. Pray with Samuel and Bec Gorfine for strong relationships to be built with partner churches. Pray with Maggie Crewes as she is busy on church visits and other events. Pray for her spiritual refreshment and energy, and a safe drive back from collecting a 4WD vehicle.  

Pray with David Williams and SAH staff that they would use the time without MiTs wisely, as they evaluate and improve the training they are offering, and run several intensives. 

Mentac: Give thanks for recent wonderful deputations for ex-Mentac apprentices who are now CMS workers. Pray for people considering Mentac in 2025. 

Across Cultures (VIC): Thank God for the recent training day on Bible and contextualisation. Pray for those who attended to think deeply about contextualizing the truth of the gospel for every culture.  

Pray with D and T for discernment as they consider several new opportunities, and which ‘doors’ to keep pressing to see if they open. Give thanks with L for the provision of a part-time job and a counselling course. Pray for wisdom and energy to navigate new things, and for discipline around work, study and rest. Pray with Sam and Shan-Shan Chrisp that first-year students will make God and Christian fellowship a priority as they start the academic year. Give thanks with Lachlan and Candy Grice for the chance to reconnect with partners in Auckland this month. Pray that they would encourage them in their ongoing local mission, and that God might spur some to consider joining in global mission. 

Give thanks Kellie Nicholas for her return to Australia and pray that preparation for deputation will go well. Pray with Chenny Thie that God will bring many September-intake international students into fellowship with KGK groups. Pray with Elle Bryce as she finishes another semester at language school–that she will continue to soak up all the Japanese she is learning, and for progress in conversational Japanese. Thank God with Dene and Rachel Hughes that life is almost back to normal after the busyness of summertime. Pray for good recovery, and energy to engage in their weekly work with joy. 

Pray with Matt and Bex Ooi that God will continue to work in the lives of the teenagers who attended the Summer Camps over this past season. Pray with Dave and Beck McIntyre that they would remain faithful as they seek to serve the Lord. Praise God with Steven and Sandra Parsons for the four new missionaries arriving, and the opportunities that Steven and Sandra have to assist in their onboarding and house setup. Pray with Adam and Helane Ramsay for their kids to settle back into school well, and for the church children’s ministry to have wisdom in planning the next teaching series. Pray with Nathan and Maki Clapham for Maki’s pilates groups and for evangelism opportunities. 

Pray with Bruce and Libby as they prepare to transition into their final Home Assignment, that they will have good closure and farewells in Pokhara and Nepal. Pray for Libby’s final school term, and for good progress on the Pokhara Study Centre’s building. Pray with Co-Mission Partners (CoMPs) Sam and Sharmila Budhathoki; Ashish Christian and Karuna Sharma; and Jiwan and Binita that they will continue to courageously take the opportunities for the gospel that God provides.
