Why I chose mission

A real turning point in my story was a short-term trip I took to the Middle East ten years ago. God used this trip to introduce me to Arab women, who were hungry to hear stories about Jesus. His compassion was moving to them. His purity and holiness were new to them. His power to forgive sins was mind-boggling to them. A local pastor shared with us the overwhelming need for gospel workers amongst the majority population. He asked us to pray and consider returning long-term.

The last few years I’ve been working in an NGO development project in a poorer city. I’ve had the privilege of meeting many Arab women and hearing their stories of joy and pain. The women I’ve met are resilient and hard working. But like most people here, they are amazed by how our team is unified (made up of foreign and Arab believers) and how we share God’s love. Many of them have started to belong to our community. In God’s kindness, we’ve seen how he can use us, serving alongside people, to introduce Jesus and give them a safe space to question and explore.

The church in the Middle East is calling for partners in the gospel – please join us! This could mean committing to regular financial support and/or joining my prayer team. As we partner together, weak but dependent on God, we pray that more Arab people will have an opportunity to meet Jesus.
