Volunteer: Missionary Accommodation

One of the ways CMS cares for its missionaries is by providing accommodation for them while they are in Australia on Home Assignment. For this purpose, we keep and maintain flats in Mont Albert.

We are currently looking for a number of volunteers to help us with the general upkeep of the flats:

(1) Join a team to help set up the flats in Mont Albert
We are seeking a team of volunteers to fill a regular role setting up the flats. This role is an important way to bless missionaries who are arriving during the often hectic time of Home Assignment.

This role involves general cleaning, sorting, making beds and ensuring the flats are ready for the missionaries when they arrive. Time commitment is typically half a day, with good advance notice on when this help will be required.

Many hands make light work, so please do let us know if you are interested. If you are a flexible team player and have a passion for caring for missionaries, we’d love to hear from you!

(2) Volunteer Maintenance Manager
We are looking for a “can-do” person who will oversee general maintenance of the flats and ensure they are in good working order.

Duties would include checking the flats for any areas that need maintenance, identifying actions, performing some repair work, and liaising with contractors/volunteers as required. This person would also organise occasional working bees.

This role is both practical and relational, and would suit someone with a great knowledge of home maintenance, skills in basic repair work, and ability to coordinate people. This is a key way to serve our missionaries and ensure their stay at the flats is worry-free!

If you or someone you know might be interested in the above roles, please share this opportunity with them!
