That is Something Bigger.

That vision is greater than us. It’s a vision for your neighbour to the ends of the earth. That is Something Bigger.
The vision of the gospel invites us to ultimately gather, every tribe and nation to sing. ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.’ (Rev 7:10)
Something Bigger is this bright hope shining through, what we see before us right now when we focus on Jesus.
‘Something Bigger’ is the theme for our January 2022 Conference, Summer Under the Son!

This year our Bible Studies will be led by Derek Brotherson, Principal of SMBC.

He will take us on a tour through God’s word from Genesis to Revelation, setting before us the vision that we are part of right now.

Derek desires that our role in bringing all nations to know Jesus will be reignited.

Our CMS Australia International Director, Peter Rodgers will be sharing with us how the same vision is bearing fruit in CMS through our workers and how you can be involved.
Plus, we have another special guest international speaker: Wendy Quay from Stanford InterVarsity in the USA!

Derek Brotherson

Derek studied Arts/Law at the Australian National University and worked as a lawyer for the Australian Government Solicitor in Canberra for a number of years.  He and his wife, Anna, then moved to Sydney to study at SMBC.  After that, Derek and his family served with OMF in South East Asia for 10 years, where Derek taught at a Bible college and missionary training school, and his wife Anna served in a women’s refuge.

Book Launch at SUTS! Islam and Women: Hagar’s Heritage by Dr Dale
We cannot understand the world we live in, including the Muslim world, if we haven’t listened to women. In a field where the majority of publications on Islam are by men and about men’s experience of Islam, Islam and Women: Hagar’s Heritage offers a new perspective on Islam through the world of women. Drawing on rich personal experience, Islamic texts, culture and history, the author explores faith, cultural themes and everyday life for Muslim women. Each chapter includes Biblical insights and practical questions to help the reader explore their own context.
The launch will be with afternoons tea at 3 pm on Friday (a full program or day ticket must be purchased to attend due to ChildSafe, Covid and Security Reasons)
