South Asia encompasses several nations, and people in the region follow a diverse mix of religions. In most places where CMS works, the majority of the population are Muslim. There are small communities of Christians with limited opportunities for public gathering. In Nepal, where there is over 80% adherence to Hinduism, Christian churches have enjoyed steady growth in recent years.
Our work in South Asia
CMS workers seek to bear witness to Christ’s love among the people and communities of South Asia where they live and serve.
We work in partnership with local projects in South Asia, where we are involved in community development, engineering, employment for women at risk, English teaching, and advocating for the exploited and vulnerable including refugees and those living in slums. CMS workers attend local churches and seek to build relationships that can lead to opportunities for gospel conversations.
