Germany is Europe’s most populous nation and has one of the world’s largest industrial economies. Since the reunification of Germany in 1990, considerable funds have been spent rebuilding the East German economy.
The Church in Germany is marginalised and there is a growing hostility to anything overtly Christian. Although 64% of people claim to be Christian, only about 45% believe in a personal God and a mere 8% worship regularly.
