Why we chose mission

A big part of our journey happened in 2011, when our family had the privilege to go to Ethiopia to be involved in training pastors and evangelists in their use of the Bible. CMS Summer School also moved us to consider whether we should go and serve Jesus overseas in another culture long term. In 2024, we were again challenged by the many opportunities overseas to make Jesus known. After much prayer, and with the support of our children, we applied to serve with CMS.

A need for Bible-based pastors

CMS has a historic partnership with the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza, although it has been many years since missionaries have been located there. Despite many challenges, today the church is vibrant and growing. However, the rate of church planting has outpaced leadership development. Bishop Zephania Ntuza has invited us to serve with the newly refreshed faculty at Nyakato Bible School in Mwanza. Under God, we hope to teach and disciple church leaders there and across the Diocese.
