There is plenty happening in our lives and the world that grabs our attention and pulls us by the heartstrings. With COVID-19, border restrictions, political unrest, and a great need to be caring for those around us – should we still be sending missionaries?
Summer Conference is a must attend mission event for your calendar! A one-day conference filled with insightful talks, panels, and live stories; Summer Conference will pull us beyond the daily news cycle and lift our horizons to God’s plan for this world. We need to go back to the heart of what mission is.
CMS exists to see a world that knows Jesus through partnering with churches to equip, send and support gospel workers as they share about Jesus across cultures. At Summer Conference 2022 you’ll hear how partnership with CMS is helping to reach the nations with the good news of Jesus.

David Williams and his family served as missionaries in Nairobi where David was Principal of Carlile College. David helped the College to establish a specialist urban mission training programme based in Kibera slum, one of the largest informal settlements in sub-Saharan Africa. David leads CMS Australia’s training college, St Andrew’s Hall in Melbourne, equipping gospel workers for long-term mission. In an ever-changing world, what direction is global mission heading in? David will set our sights on the future and refocus our vision in a talk on Mission in the Future.
Chris Fresch is the Lecturer in Biblical Languages and Old Testament at the Bible College of South Australia and is passionate about training up gospel workers for the ministries God calls them to. He has published books and articles on the biblical languages, the Septuagint, and the Minor Prophets. Chris is married to Laura, and they have two delightful little girls, Zoe (4) and Emma (1). He will be pointing us to God’s great Mission to the Nations from the book of Isaiah.
Kristan Slack is married to Kath and God has entrusted them with four kids. Together they’ve served the Lord Jesus in Mauritius, south-west Sydney, and remote NT, where Kristan is currently Senior Minister at Alice Springs Anglican. Kristan also lived and ministered in South India for a number of years. Drawing upon his experiences of cross-cultural mission and his own personal convictions, Kristan will guide us through the importance of God’s call for Mission to the Unreached.
Calling all kids and youth – you are invited to Summer Conference! At CMS we believe that God calls people of all ages to get involved in His global mission. Come along and spend a day having fun and learning about mission with other kids and youth of the same age. Filled with great teaching, activities and stories from missionaries everyone who comes along will be encouraged to pray, care, give and go (when the time is right!) for God’s global mission.
Registrations are open for the Kids and Youth Conferences, which run alongside the main sessions. With a crèche and tailored children’s program for ages 3-4, 5-8 and 9-11 and a youth program for kids aged 12-16, we have something for everyone! Year 11 and 12 students are invited to join in the main session.
