A1:8 | In Christ Alone
2nd - 3rd August 2019
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Who we are informs what we do. Because we are in Christ, everything has changed!
We are Christ’s witnesses – in Melbourne, throughout Australia, and to the ends of the earth.
Come to A1:8 and discover what being in Christ alone would mean for us to contribute to a world that knows Jesus!
Between Friday 2 August 2019 7:00 PM and Saturday 3 August 2019 5:00 PM
Scots’ Church Melbourne
156 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000
We know that our identity is in Christ, but how does that shape our attitude and involvement in cross-cultural mission? Jeff Pugh, pastor trainer, mentor and former Dean, Postgraduate Institute of MST, will get us thinking about who we are, and what is to be found being in Christ Alone.
Our second speaker is returned missionary and National Director of Sparklit, Michael Collie, who never thought God would send a graphic designer to South America, especially one who was a pastors kid. And God has been expecting faithful, costly obedience ever since…and life has never been better!
Join him, and other CMS gospel workers as we grapple with living in light of our identity in Christ as our faithful God calls us to radical obedience, costly living, and a flourishing life.
This year at A1:8, we will be asking some big questions:
- How do we reject mediocrity – and turn passion into practice?
- What are the characteristics of an effective missionary?
- What practical steps can I take to be part of God’s mission to see A World That Knows Jesus?
Whole Event (Friday Night and Saturday) – $35*
Friday Night – $15
Saturday – $28
