Review: A Life Uncommon by Ken Perry

A Life Uncommon; Ken Perry; Self-published, 2011.

Ken and Jay Perry served with CMS in Borneo from 1955 to 1959, then Singapore and Klang between 1960 and 1965. On their return to Australia Ken was appointed Victorian General Secretary of CMS from 1965-1972. After a period of parish work in Melbourne and its surrounding districts, they returned to CMS missionary work, serving in Indonesia from 1980 to 1983.

In A Life Uncommon, Ken takes us on a journey both spiritual and physical, and discusses the many responsibilities and blessings encountered in fulfilling his calling. It is a rich portrait of Ken’s life—as minister, missionary, husband, father and friend. His message to heed God’s call and live a life ‘uncommon’ is conveyed with honesty and good humour. This life has had its share of trial and uncertainty, but as he reminds us, the voice of God is loud and clear for those willing to listen.
