Description

The Northern Territory Government is frequently advertising for school teachers with accredited training, from any state. Pay is good, with generous benefits, including trips 'out' from isolated areas.
A teacher applicant specifying any of the CMS-related centres (Groote Eylandt, Numbulwar, Ngukurr, Oenpelli, Elcho Island) would almost certainly get the placement, such is the difficulty in staffing these places.

Requirements

These appointments would not be easy - indeed potentially some of the most difficult we could imagine - and so we only recommend to experienced teachers, and without children.
The need is great for Christian teachers, who can live Christianly, teach sympathetically, spend time with children who are among the most needy anywhere, and stay for a year or more. Some cross-cultural training would be immensely helpful, as would a year of Bible college or equivalent.
