Description

Nungalinya College in Darwin is a Combined Churches Training College for Indigenous Australians. They seek to empower Indigenous Christians by providing education and employment pathways. The college has three academic deans to organize students from different denominational backgrounds.

CMS helps the Diocese of Northern Territory to source an Anglican Dean of Students to serve at Nungalinya. The role is responsible for administrative arrangements for those students attending Nungalinya from traditionally Anglican areas. The role requires communicating with remote students, arranging courses and transport, and requires some skills in pastoral care. Occasional rural travel would be expected. The work of Dean can be combined with teaching in the regular college courses.

Requirements

CMS is looking for people for the Theology Courses with:
• a Bachelor degree in Theology is desirable however less theological education will be considered.
• pastoral qualifications and skills desirable but not essential
• academic experience desirable
• experience in Christian Ministry
• cross cultural sensitivity
• good listening skills
• strong organisational skills
• willingness to serve long term
• availability to travel to communities
• a servant heart
