General Maintenance Officer

A General Maintenance Officer is required for an extensive eye care program based in Central Asia.

The General Maintenance Officer will be responsible for a regionally based maintenance department.
It will involve:

  • teaching and training of local national staff
  • overseeing the maintenance of all project vehicles
  • developing maintenance schedules for all vehicles and equipment
  • managing the general maintenance workshop
  • overseeing the carpentry workshop
  • flexibility and initiative

This role is vital as the eye care program continues to grow and impacts people across the country, reaching the very poor in all areas of this land.
The eye care program includes three major tertiary centres (40-50 beds) based in the city centres, three smaller (5-10 beds) inpatient and surgical/treatment facilities in more remote areas, mobile surgical eye camps, training for doctors and ophthalmic technicians, primary eye care program, eye drop production pharmacies and optical centres, and logistical and supply centre.
