The Anglican Church of Tanzania has welcomed a new archbishop. Archbishop Jacob Chimeledya was elected in mid-February and installed in a service on 19 May. Many CMS missionaries serve in Tanzania, including Brad Galvin and Amy Vink, who have shared their thoughts and prayer requests for the new archbishop

CMS Australia’s Federal Secretary Peter Rodgers attended the Faith2Share Leadership Consultation in Bangkok from 29 April to 3 May. People in leadership positions from many mission organisations from all over the world gathered for the conference.

The study of the Bible as one whole text which all points to Jesus is an important concept, but throughout the world many churches and Bible colleges do not have a unified approach to studying the Bible. As a result, the significance and greatness of God’s plan is lost. But something is being done about this in Germany.

On Monday 4 March the people of Kenya voted in the first general election since 2007. CMS missionaries Paul and Cathy Sampson are serving in Kenya. The election has been a significant concern for them over the last few months. Peace and stability in Kenya are vital for their safety and for their ministries to continue.

1 March is the 2013 World Day of Prayer, an inspiring international ministry event encouraging people to pray for critical gospel needs across the world. This year, the focus of this event is France, particularly on spreading the gospel message to French youth. CMS is encouraging people to join with believers all over the world in praying for France today.

CMS is launching a new vision to see ‘a world that knows Jesus’ at Summer Conferences across Australia in January, and is asking for a renewed commitment from the Australian church to engage in cross-cultural mission.
