Chile Earthquake - Missionary Update
2nd March 2010
Many messages, prayers and words of support have been gratefully received at the CMS office since news was received of the Chilean earthquake in the early hours of Saturday morning.
We are most thankful to God that all of the CMS-A missionaries in Chile have been accounted for and are well.
The severe earthquake, which claimed over 700 lives, hit the Chilean landscape on Saturday 27 February with the epicentre a few hundred kilometres south west of Santiago.
Further news and details are still being received, however we ask for prayer for all of our missionaries. Some, with their children, have just moved back home, having temporarily moved premises as a safety precaution. Pray for them as they experience the many aftershocks.
Please pray for the many people affected by the earthquake in Chile, and especially Christian brothers and sisters who have survived the quake around the Concepción and Temuco area.
Earthquake relief may be forwarded for distribution by the Diocese of Chile through the Archbishop's Overseas Aid and Relief Fund (ORAF).
