Bruce and Libby Hayes

Missionary From Queensland with Northern NSW
Location: Nepal

Kathmandu

Against the stunning backdrop of Nepal, God has been doing amazing things. Before 1951, there were no known Christians there, but God used the witness of Nepali and expatriate Christians from outside the country to build his kingdom in Nepal. The Nepali Church is now one of the fastest growing in the world. Yet 92% of the population have still heard nothing of the gospel.

Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, suffers from pollution, water shortages and lack of electricity, gas and petrol. Occasionally, the snow-capped Himalayas come into view!

Libby is the Secondary School Principal at Kathmandu International Study Centre (KISC). Her desire is to see staff and students growing in Christ’s love in an environment of excellence and nurture. Bruce continues to coordinate GP training at Patan Hospital, combined with his consultancy role at the Nick Simons Institute. New opportunities to teach Ethics and to help Christian leaders develop provide avenues for wider ministry.
