Chile’s capital Santiago suffers from rapidly growing demands on its infrastructure. The variation in living standards is enormous, and although a very beautiful city, with its snow-covered mountains, it can be very polluted.

Lesley is based in Renca, one of the poorer suburbs of Santiago. She serves in pastoral ministry, training and encouraging potential leaders, and teaching English and health education. She works to promote confidence and dependence on the word of God in her local congregation, and to reach her community with the gospel. During 2011 her aim is gradually to drop out of a leadership role and encourage local Christians to commit themselves more fully to training others.
