Antofagasta

Antofagasta is a long narrow coastal city of 400,000 inhabitants in the Atacama Desert, just south of the Tropic of Capricorn. Employment opportunities are good and there are many new residential areas, as the city is surrounded by a cluster of copper mines. Copper is Chile’s main source of income.

Bruce is the pastor of a Spanish-speaking Anglican church as well as a small Englishspeaking congregation that meets twice a month. Their new church building was completed in 2011. Bron spends her time in supporting Bruce, caring for their home and their girls, and helping with women’s and Sunday school ministry.
