Tavis and Kate Beer

Missionary From Victoria
Location: Australia - Northern Territory

Katherine

Katherine is a town of about 10,000 people, located just over 300 kilometres south east of Darwin. It is the main centre for a 364,000 square kilometre region of about 60,000 people, of whom nearly two-thirds identify as Indigenous.

After six months of building relationships and learning Kriol in Ngukurr, Kate and Tavis will serve as ordained clergy through the Anglican Church in Katherine, assisting Indigenous Christians as they establish Kriol-speaking urban ministries. They will also work to support remote church leaders in South East Arnhem Land communities, and other communities within the Northern Territory Diocese.
