Numbulwar

Numbulwar overlooks the Gulf of Carpentaria and Groote Eylandt. The population of Numbulwar is around 800, and is comprised of 12 Indigenous ‘tribes’ or family groupings. The older generation speak the traditional language, Wubuy, whilst the younger generation speak Kriol.

Ruth is continuing to develop her language and cultural skills by living and working in the Numbulwar community, assisting local Christian leaders in the life and ministry of the church, and supporting initiatives in the development of youth and children’s ministry.
