Sunday 9 – Germany

Mike and Caroline Clark praise God for Mike’s visit to Giessen to speak on Biblical Theology, and for the enthusiasm of students who attended the lectures. Please also pray for Klaus and Jude Hickel, Rob and Arabelle Horne and Tim and Andrea Field.

Monday 10 – France / Switzerland

Join Daniel and Kate Morris in thanking God for the friendships they’ve made at their language school and pray that they would continue to adjust to life in France. With Caroline Evenden, pray for the GBU’s major evangelistic event on 22–24 March; a presentation of the Gospel of Mark as theatre. Pray that great numbers of non-believers will be invited, will come, and will be saved; and that Christians will be challenged to know and follow Jesus more passionately. Andrew and Claire Livingstone give thanks for the IFES Global Impact conference that has taken place over the past few days. Pray that those who attended would be encouraged to build ministries to international students across Europe. Please also commit Libby Leach and Paul and Sandra to prayer.

Tuesday 11 – Spain

John and Jodi Lovell praise God for continued growth in their midweek Bible study group and pray that this regular time studying the Scriptures and praying will be effective in growing disciples of Jesus. Mike and Tania Snowdon thank God for more teaching opportunities (with sermons and Sunday school) and pray for more growth in teaching skills. Pray with Ian and Ruth Batey that people would accept invitations to church, and that church members would attend an intensive short MOCLAM course in May to study the Bible in depth. Andrew and Dominique Gifford pray that the opportunity to take some extra Spanish language classes until Easter would be a blessing. Pray for Ellie Firth as she awaits approval for her visa, for peace in trusting God to provide and wisdom in how to use the time in Melbourne well.

Wednesday 12 – CMS Development and Training

Josh and Susannah Apieczonek (NSW & ACT) give thanks that their kids (have settled into pre-school and are loving life at SAH. Warwick and Caroline de Jersey (NSW & ACT) pray for good discussions between CMS and their proposed partner organisation. Keith and Marion Birchley (QNNSW) pray that the Lord would help them in their daily walk as they deal with the stress of moving from Brisbane and some health scares. Keith and Mary Lou Doe (QNNSW) pray for clear minds and continued focus. David Williams prays for good preparation to lead a workshop on mission to Muslims for St Jude’s Convention on 29 March.

Thursday 13 – Argentina / Chile

Andrew and Paulina Cox praise God for new ministries and growing contacts for the gospel in Punta Arenas. Please also pray for Martin and Julie Field and Amy Stephens.

Friday 14 – Chile

Pray with Stephen and Rebecca Shead for the Shead children as they readjust to school after the long summer holidays, and especially for Lily as she gets used to long days of Spanish schooling. Gary and Julie Haddon praise God that they have been settling in well so far, and pray for their daughters who start school this month. Please also pray for Michael and Jo Charles and Frances Cook.

Saturday 15 – Mexico / Bolivia / CMS Scholarships

Adrian and Anita Lovell pray that their church would grow in knowledge of God’s love and love for one another. Please also pray for Peter and Sarah Sholl and the students whom CMS supports with scholarships.

Please pray for the CMS staff in the Middle East who cannot be named due to security or privacy concerns.

Monday 17 – Pakistan / Jordan

Pray for With Steve and Jenny Sonneman as they seek to be a light in Pakistan, and pray that God will help them to be more intentional in friendships and more prayerful in their ministries. Please also pray for David and Georgina Newmarch and Malcolm and Charissa Forrest.

Tuesday 18 – South Asia / Central Asia

Please pray for the CMS staff in South and Central Asia who cannot be named due to security or privacy concerns.

Wednesday 19 – Nepal
Bruce and Libby Hayes thank God for their 21 years in Nepal. Pray with them for the Nepali Church as it seeks to be salt and light, and particularly for their church family at Navodaya as the elders take rotating turns to be the pastor/head elder. Pray for Kirstin Hawkshaw as she spends time with churches this month on deputation, that this may bring encouragement and spur people on to be more involved with and aware of mission. Pray with Gordon and Ruth Russell for the refresher palliative care workshops Ruth will be running on 20–21 March in Nepalgunj (an 11-hour bus trip west) and 7–8 April in Pokhara. Sophia Cameron (Short Term Worker, NSW & ACT) prays for a smooth readjustment back into life in Tansen, after two months in Australia, and that she would have good insight as she works with local teachers. Please also commit to prayer Leigh and Tamara Filmer and Kate Dalitz.

Thursday 20 – CMS Branches

NSW & ACT: Pray that CMS NSW & ACT staff can encourage, support and care for missionaries while they are on Home Assignment. QNNSW: Pray that Gillian Law’s visa will come through so she can commence missionary work in Italy, and for the health of Keith, currently in training at SAH. SA/NT: Thank God for supporters and churches who joined the branch in their recent week of prayer. WA: Please pray for wisdom as the branch helps potential missionaries consider their futures with CMS. VIC: Pray for branch staff as they pack up and move to new premises, and that staff would adjust well to the new location. TAS: Please continue to pray for those leading the branch in this time of transition, particularly new State Worker Sam Chidamber.

Friday 21 – North Australia

Chris and Karen Webb thank God for their home in Broome, and for encouraging interactions with many Christians they met on their journey from Perth to Broome. Terry and Liz McCoy praise God for all the new students, especially the new young couples enrolled at Nungalinya this year, and for the strong interest in the new music course. Please also pray for Wayne Oldfield and Mandy Jones.

Saturday 22 – North Australia

Please pray that Tavis and Kate Beer would be effective in helping those in Katherine and south east Arnhem Land who are seeking to grow in their discipleship of the Lord Jesus. Please also pray for Ruth Brigden and Steve and Narelle Etherington.


Sunday 23 – East Asia / Hong Kong / Taiwan

John and Janelle Menear thank God for the honesty and openness of people to talking about spiritual matters, and pray for guidance as they attempt to do this. Please also pray for Marshall and Julie Scott.

Monday 24 – Cambodia

Pray with Inpa and Vana Eliezer for wisdom for the NaCE Management Team as they search for a new Operations Manager, and for the restructuring needed to support new programs. Dave and Leoni Painter pray for the good reception of the second edition of the book God’s Big Picture that Dave checked last year. Pray that it will be helpful for Cambodian preachers’ understanding of the Bible. Ken and Alison Thompson pray that their staff member, Hoon, will persevere while they are away, and not be discouraged. Please also pray for Wim and Maaike Prins and Rolf and Bonnie Lepelaar.

Tuesday 25 – Indonesia

Pray for Andrew Buchanan’s New Testament theology class, that they will grow in understanding of God’s word. Please also pray for Ian and Narelle Hadfield.

Wednesday 26 – Singapore

Thank God with Mark and Rosemary Dickens for the recent retreat in Thailand for gospel workers from a nearby country. Please pray for these workers as they share the good news of Jesus in word and deed in a sensitive location.

Thursday 27 – Japan

Please pray for Steve and Sandra Parsons and family as they fly to Adelaide today for two weeks’ ministry, and that God will use them to encourage link churches and other Christian groups. Please also pray for Karen Darda and Nathan and Maki Clapham.

Friday 28 – Japan / Fiji / Timor-Leste

Please pray for Dene and Rachel Hughes as they return to Japan after Home Assignment and settle back into life and ministry there. Chris and Grace Adams praise God that he has answered their prayers and provided them with a work visa. Please also pray for Kellie Nicholas, Brad and Michelle Jackson and Tony and Susie Wright.

Saturday 29 – CMS Australia

Please pray for Judith Calf, currently on a pastoral visit to Nepal and South Asia. Pray for safety and good conversations with missionaries and partners. Please pray also for the upcoming CMS board meeting (11 April), that the board would prayerfully and faithfully make decisions about CMS and its ministries.


Sunday 30 – World Mission

Thank God for our international partners, who work with CMS to cross cultures and share the gospel. Pray that through these partners, many people will come to faith in Jesus Christ, and that the leadership of these various organisations will lead with servant hearts and eyes fixed on Jesus.

Monday 31 – Branch Support Ministries

Please pray for the Medical Mission Aid (VIC) Autumnfest on 15 April. Pray for David and Prue Boyd, speaking at this event, that they will raise awareness of medical mission needs in DR Congo. Please also pray for Mission Aid Group (NSW), the CMS Bookstore (QNNSW) and Former Missionaries Fellowship (QNNSW, SA/NT, VIC/TAS).

Tuesday 1 – South Africa / Namibia

Nathan and Diane Lovell give thanks for six successful weeks of community tests for the SASL Bible translation project. This was the first time that God’s word was communicated visually to many deaf Christians and non-Christians. Pray with Simon and Margaret Gillham for an end to gender-based violence in Namibia. 16 women have been killed this year in domestic disputes, and many more injured. David and Alisan Greeff pray that God would raise up the right people for the task of becoming additional NETS distance coordinators. Thank God that Alisan’s knee surgery has alleviated a lot of pain.

Wednesday 2 – Nigeria / Kenya / Ethiopia

Pray with Roger and Lynn Kay for Retrak’s new drop-in centre in Hossana which opens this month, that the staff team will work together to demonstrate God’s love to street children. Stafford and Rae Cowling (Affiliates, SA/NT) praise God for the students who have worked hard and scored pleasing results in their recent ‘mock’ examinations, and pray for them and their teachers as they prepare for the final examinations in May/June. Please pray also for Alan and Helen Wood, Paul and Cathy Sampson and Shane and Naomi Rubie.

Thursday 3 – Tanzania

Graham and Alison McKay (Affiliates, WA) pray that the Constitutional Assembly meeting in Dodoma, held to agree on a new draft constitution for Tanzania, will be productive and develop a fair constitution. Robert and Mary Reside (Affiliates, VIC) ask for wisdom in balancing the various calls on their time and energy, as well as knowing when to say yes and when to say no. Arthur and Tamie Davis pray for the TAFES Easter Discipleship Training Schools happening around the country, and pray that they would be a great opportunity to build relationships with students and staff. Please pray also for Malcolm and Elmari Buchananand Jane Window.

Friday 4 – Tanzania

Thank God with Geoff and Martha Boye for the privilege it is to serve at Munguishi. Praise God also that their kids are happy and doing well at school. Please pray also for John and Jill Morshead, Brad and Neroli Galvin and Mike and Katie Taylor.

Saturday 5 – Tanzania

As Easter approaches, praise God with Matthew and Samantha Archer for the holy and righteous life of Jesus, who has taken our sin and shame, and who lives in glory. Helen Hoskins gives thanks for the Shalom Kindergarten which began in March, and prays for the teachers, Schola and Grace, as well as the 40 students. Jono and Amy Vink pray for participants in the Pastors’ groups, that they would encourage and build one another up in truth, love and knowledge. Praise God with Glen and Dominique Turner for the many answers to prayer as they’ve settled back into life and ministry in Musoma.


Sunday 6 – Tanzania / East Africa / Rwanda / DR Congo

Pray with Andy and Jenny Bennett that they will hand over their work effectively and pack up their house without great stress as they prepare to leave Tanzania in May for Home Assignment. Tim and Catherine Walker pray for the people of Rwanda as this month marks 20 years since the genocide. Please pray also for the success of a new campaign in Rwanda to encourage Rwandans to see themselves as a united people. David and Prue Boyd praise God for all their visits to churches and encounters with many people who have a heart for mission. Please pray also for Liz Burns and Maggie Crewes.

Monday 7 – Slovenia

Pray with Leon and Lee for their son, Jono, as he begins his final Year 12 exams on 2 May. Pray for Kingsley and Veronica Box and their family as they settle into Australia for Home Assignment. Pray they can forge good relationships with link churches and will be able to encourage Australian Christians to participate in the spreading of the gospel, both in Australia and overseas. Please pray also for Mark and Rochelle Groombridge.

Tuesday 8 – Italy / Malta / Ireland

Pray with Andrew and Sarah Lubbock for their children Ezekiel, Jemima, Oscar and Matilda, that they might follow the Spirit’s leading and live as Christians at school. Pray for growth for Gillian Law in trusting her Heavenly Father during this season of transition. Please pray also for Geoff and Robyn and Catherine Read.

Wednesday 9 – Germany / Eurasia

Mike and Caroline Clark praise God for an encouraging and productive preaching conference in Munich. Please pray also for Klaus and Jude Hickel, Rob and Arabelle Horne, and Tim and Andrea Field.

Thursday 10 – France / Switzerland

Daniel and Kate Morris pray for deepening relationships with people at their church, and that people would bear with them through slow speaking and language errors. Caroline Evenden asks God to bear fruit in the lives of all who came to see ‘The Mark Drama’ at the end of March. Please pray also for the next GBU evangelistic event on 16 April, ‘The Cross of Christ in Art’. Paul and Sandra thank the Lord for the Christian love that is shown between the members of Sandra’s women’s Bible study group, and the difference that the good news has made in the lives of these women. Pray with Andrew and Claire Livingstone for Claire’s visit to Australia this month for family reasons, and for Andrew as he continues ministry in Lausanne. Please pray also for Libby Leach.

Friday 11 – Spain

John and Jodi Lovell give thanks for the many international students in Valencia who have joined them at church and are keen to serve. Pray for wisdom for the Lovells as they figure out how to train and equip these newcomers to share the gospel with other university students. Pray with Mike and Tania Snowdon for students who attended some evangelistic events at the university this week, that God would work in their hearts. Ian and Ruth Batey pray that during the Holy Week festivities in Seville, the Lord would provide many opportunities to help people better understand the meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Andrew and Dominique Gifford pray that spring might bring a bloom of Spanish-speaking locals at church. Praise God with Ellie Firth for the past week in London learning Spanish sounds. As she flies to Spain tomorrow and adjusts to life in Spain, pray that she would grow in her love and knowledge of God, resting in Him for everything.

Saturday 12 – CMS Development and Training, Mentac, CBP

Please pray for Charlie Fletcher, that his teaching and mentoring at St Andrew's Hall would be useful for trainees as they prepare for cross-cultural gospel work. Pray for good rest over Easter for staff and students. Keith and Marion Birchley (QNNSW) pray continually for Keith’s health, and for trust in God throughout the uncertainties of life. Warwick and Caroline de Jersey (NSW and ACT) give thanks for the flat they’ve found for their boys to move into over Easter and for the two weeks catching up with them and other family. Josh and Susannah Apieczonek (NSW and ACT) give thanks to God for the friendships their kids have formed with the other children at St Andrew’s Hall and pray for God’s leading and clear thinking as they consider where to serve him overseas. Keith and Mary Lou Doe (QNNSW) pray for clear, focused minds to consolidate all they’ve learnt so far. Please pray also for the Centre for Biblical Preaching.


Sunday 13 – Argentina / Chile

Martin and Julie Field praise God for ENCA (the national training event of ABUA), and for the 65 students who attended. Amy Stephens prays for a fruitful year of ministry through ABUA, and thanks God for the 2000 students who received an ABUA welcome booklet during the first week of university. Andrew and Paulina Cox pray that God would encourage the very few Christian students in Punta Arenas, and draw more students to himself.

Monday 14 – Chile

Please pray for Stephen and Rebecca Shead and all the ministries they are involved in at church: Sunday school, women's bible study, discipleship groups and an Alpha course. Pray for Gary and Julie Haddon as they try to develop friendships, and as their daughters try to make friends at school. Pray also for them as they learn language. Please pray also for Michael and Jo Charles and Frances Cook.

David and Georgina Newmarch give thanks for safety on the roads and in their neighbourhood. Please pray that the bank accounts for the rest house would be opened after a 16-month wait. Please pray also for With Steve and Jenny Sonneman and Malcolm and Charissa Forrest.

Friday 18 – South Asia / Central Asia

Please pray for the CMS workers in South and Central Asia who cannot be named for privacy or security reasons.

Saturday 19 – Nepal

Bruce and Libby Hayes pray for discipline and focus as they return to study, to balance the pleasure of learning and reading more with academic pressures. As Leigh and Tamara Filmer arrive back in Surkhet after Home Assignment and a month of full-time language study, please pray that they use this opportunity to review how to use time well. Pray for Kirstin Hawkshaw as she finishes Home Assignment and prepares to return to Nepal in May. Gordon and Ruth Russell pray for a clear proclamation of Jesus, the Saviour of the world, over Easter, and for Gordon preaching in Nepali on Easter Sunday. Please pray also for Kate Dalitz.


Sunday 20 – CMS Branches

NSW and ACT: Pray for the Youth and Children’s worker, Mick Hyam, as he meets with leaders and directors of CMS Camps throughout the year. QNNSW: Pray that Journey in Mission special events would engage the hearts and minds of young people to consider acting on God’s Great Commission. SA/NT: Pray for wisdom as CMS SA/NT looks into making some changes to Summer Encounter for 2015 and beyond. WA: Pray for preparations for MAC Conference on 21 June. VIC: Pray that the new CMS office in Mitcham is ready to move into by the end of the month, and for a quick transition into the new offices for staff. TAS: Pray that more individuals and churches in Tasmania would partner with CMS to support God’s mission to the world.

Monday 21 – North Australia

Wayne Oldfield and Mandy Jones give thanks for the interest in the Aboriginal church and Nungalinya College among supporters at link churches, and for the warm fellowship they have enjoyed. Terry and Liz McCoy give thanks for opportunities that churches in remote communities have had to reach out this Easter, and for the opportunity to be refreshed after a very busy term. Please pray also for Chris and Karen Webb.

Tuesday 22 – North Australia

Tavis and Kate Beer pray for wisdom, health and strength for the Christian leaders in Ngukurr, Urapunga, Minyerri and Kewulyi, so that they might help their churches share the gospel of grace in Christ Jesus with their communities. Please pray also for Ruth Brigden and Steve and Narelle Etherington.

Wednesday 23 – Hong Kong / Taiwan

Marshall and Julie Scott pray for the kids attending the new youth group, that they would understand God’s word and that the Spirit would be at work as the group reads through John’s gospel. Please pray also for John and Janelle Menear.

Thursday 24 – Cambodia
Praise God with Inpa and Vana Eliezer for opportunities to minister holistically to the Nummanna community. Rolf and Bonnie Lepelaar pray for the family as Rolf starts Home Assignment in Australia, while Bonnie stays with the kids until they finish school in June. Dave and Leoni Painter pray for the eight students in Dave’s doctrine class, that they will be challenged in thinking on critical gospel issues. Wim and Maaike Prins pray for the Lord’s guidance regarding ministry opportunities, and give thanks for the talk Wim gave to missionaries in late March, on how to support Khmer Christians. Pray with Ken and Alison Thompson for their son Calvin who has a cyst on his knee that will require surgery and a bone graft when it is removed.

Friday 25 – Indonesia

Saturday 26 – Singapore / Malaysia

Please pray for Mark and Rosemary Dickens and other CMs workers who cannot be named for security or privacy reasons.


Sunday 27 – Japan

Steve and Sandra Parsons pray for the number of people who are covering their responsibilities while they are on Home Assignment. Please pray that these people will find strength in the Lord during the time pressures they face. Nathan and Maki Clapham pray for friends at church for Samuel and Ian, as well as opportunities to meet people in their community. Please pray also for Karen Darda.

Monday 28 – Japan / Fiji / Timor-Leste

Give thanks with Kellie Nicholas for the opportunity she has to teach her graduate assistant about Biblical Theology. Chris and Grace Adams pray for perseverance in language and culture learning. Please pray also for Dene and Rachel Hughes, Brad and Michelle Jackson and Tony and Susie Wright.

Tuesday 29 – CMS Australia

Please pray for Malcolm and Elizabeth Richards as they visit missionaries and international partners in Tanzania and Kenya (24 April–13 May). Please pray also for Grahame and Cathy Smith, on a pastoral visit to Japan (28 April–7 May) visiting CMS personnel and partners, many of whom they have served with in Japan. Pray for wisdom and good stewardship for the CMS-A finance team, as they prepare the 2014–2015 budget.

Wednesday 30 – World Mission

Pray for the many places in the world where there are few or no faithful Christians able to teach and train. Pray that God would raise up workers for the harvest with servant hearts, a willingness to serve long term, a love of the Bible and theological training to go out with CMS to places limited in their knowledge of the gospel. Pray that many more people will hear of the great sacrificial love of Jesus Christ and be equipped to continue spreading this good news. Please also commit to prayer cross-cultural gospel workers whose names we cannot mention in these prayer points.
