One way that your church can join in world mission is by linking with a CMS missionary.

Both churches and missionaries gain from a link relationship. For your church, link missionaries provide a focus and a human face for world mission and the church's horizons are widened. For missionaries, the prayer, financial and pastoral support they receive from link churches is essential for their ministries.

It is an important step for a congregation to take on a new missionary link. CMS would anticipate a commitment by your church to:

• Get to know your link missionary and care for them.
• Pray for them regularly in services and home groups and encourage church members to pray during the week. Regular prayer points from your link missionary will help you to do this.
• Provide realistic financial support. This will vary from one church to another. The average cost of keeping a missionary family is about $65,000 p.a. and a missionary family usually has about seven link churches. CMS can discuss levels of support with you.
