COTTESLOE WA 6011
9:00 am to 3:30 pm Saturday 26 June 2010
The 2010 Missionary Awareness Conference was focused on leadership development in the church of the developing world. As Christian missiologist David Livermore says, "Leaders from every non-western region say that their number one need is leadership training". We live in an era where 85% of churches in the world are led by men and women with no formal training in leadership or ministry.
The 2010 guest speaker was Mike Raiter, Principal of the Bible College of Victora and a former missionary. Mike gave two session talks based on Luke 7:1-23 (download audio) and Luke 19:11-27 (download audio).
CMS missionaries Brad and Neroli Galvin who are now serving at Amani Christian Training Centre in Iringa, Tanzania also gave a presentation to inform us about their work and life in Iringa.
Perth pastor Nigel Gordon lead a bible study (audio download) to kick off proceedings.
It was a good day, and as WA is such a big state, it was an opporturnity to catch up with people we usually only see at MAC!
