Church Based Ministry

From Graeme and Jane Peter's, ministering in the Anglican church in Chile.

“Some of the best evangelists are new Christians who are still overwhelmed by God’s love for them and the transformation that he is bringing about in their lives. Our team in Valdivia consisted of three families of mature believers and three families of fairly new converts. The new families were our best evangelists by far!

They naturally wanted the same for all their friends and family, who has seen the change in their lives and were curious – people on fire for God and still fresh in their new life in Christ bring others to hear about Jesus, just like the Samaritan woman who spoke to Jesus at the well, then went back to her village and urged everyone to come and see the man who told me everything I ever did.” (John 4: 39)

“In very ordinary ways you meet people and strike up conversation. Just a couple of days ago I was washing my car downstairs and my (Buddhist) neighbour came up to me and he was asking me about church and the bible and what I believe. And that’s a conversation that I didn’t initiate, that was what he did. And we did our best with my broken Japanese and his broken English. But in that context of just washing the car, bumping into a neighbour we talk about Jesus.”
