Journey In Mission
Journey In Mission (JIM) is a regular event run by CMS-QNNSW that seeks to engage followers of Christ with current issues in cross cultural mission. On most evenings we will seek to cover a given topic by looking at what the Bible says, what the issues are, and how the Bible and issues are worked out in practice.
JIM's goal is to equip, challenge, and raise up a growing number of mission educated and informed lean, mean gospel machines in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
JIM in September:
- Thursday Sep 16, 6.30pm for dinner, 7.30pm start
- 123 Delville Ave, Moorooka
- "The WORD, the issues, the work, the opportunities"
- Speaker: Bill Colyer (QUT Christians staffworker)
- RSVP for dinner by sms (0430 091 922), email (smcgeown@cms.org.au), or Facebook.
September's Journey in Mission will be focused on The Word and Mission. Bill Colyer from QUT AFES will be kicking the evening off by looking at what the Word says about the Word. We will then be tackling issues like -
- What happens when the word of God is sidelined in mission or the church shuts up?
- What is the relationship between word and deeds?
- How can we keep the Word central in mission especially in areas where the law forbids it or people are illiterate?
- Is it better to have dodgy preaching of God’s Word in remote places, or no preaching at all?
- How do we get better equipped to be a proclaimer of the Word overseas?
- What can the history of mission teach us?
JIM in October:
- Tuesday Oct 12, 6.30pm for dinner, 7.30pm start @123 Delville Ave, Moorooka
- AND Thursday Oct 14 @CMS - Hope Central, Fortitude Valley
