Mission is the best bit...
Youth and Children’s program director David Davies writes:
“At Summer School I was stopped by a lady who wanted to thank me for the Youth and Children’s program. She said that her nine-year-old daughter had said to her, ‘It’s great how CMS puts on something for the parents to do while the kids are at Summer School!’ I think that this girl has got the right idea. A really important part of Summer School is exciting children about God’s mission.
Let’s face it – we adults are pretty good at talking ourselves out of risky decisions like be becoming a missionary. But children are wonderfully open-minded. I’ve heard of more than one family that has come home from Summer School and the children have asked their parents, ‘So why aren’t we missionaries?’ That’s why one of my goals is to make the mission focus the best part of any CMS youth camp, conference or event.”
