Billions of people have never heard the news that Jesus made them, died for them, and loves them. And I am passionate about seeing that change. That’s why I am leaving in January to join the Operation Mobilisation mission ship, Logos Hope, for 2 years.
I spent the first six years of my life in Pakistan as a missionary kid and all my life I have been surrounded by missionaries. I regularly hear stories of the many people in the world who are in great spiritual and physical need, and how God is using people to impact and change lives. It is my greatest desire that God would use me too.
As a member of the ship’s crew I will be working hard doing everyday jobs needed to keep the ship running as well as taking part in sharing Christ and supporting the local church.
I am especially looking forward to meeting new people from so many different nations, each with a story and each with a passion for serving God. I am also looking forward to meeting people in the ports we visit.
I know it won’t be easy, though. I won’t be seeing any of my friends or family for two years, and having never lived away from home.
Enormous challenges await me in short-term mission; it will stretch, confront and take me out of my comfort zone. And it will do the same for you. But it will be worth it to see lives impacted for eternity by the gospel of Jesus.
