Applying with CMS

Serving long-term with CMS usually means two or more tours of 3 or 4 years. Most locations require missionaries to invest in language and culture orientation for at least the first twelve months.

More and more Christians are interested in going short-term to be actively involved in God’s mission around the world. CMS is happy to send people to work short term in situations where they can support the ministries of long-term missionaries and fill specific roles where their vocations and gifts are greatly needed.

However, CMS focuses on sending long-term missionaries, and hopes that people who serve short-term will be encouraged to remain engaged with cross-cultural mission, either by going back or by becoming sending partners with CMS.
